Head of Application Support / Digital Transformation

Our client is seeking a Head of Application Support / Digital Transformation, to lead all aspects of the group’s IT application support, whilst playing a leading role in the development and implementation of the group’s digital transformation, cloud first strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strong application support team leadership, leading a cross jurisdictional team of approximately 20+ people
  • Work with the business to create a clear client and staff user experience through the identification, deployment and support of on-line cloud services and self-service capabilities
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with business partners to deliver technical capabilities against an ever-demanding user and client base
  • Establish a regular product service calendar ensuring that the group can bring onboard product changes / developments as quickly as possible; focusing on quality and product capabilities, enabling the business to leverage new product capabilities quickly within a commercial framework to a high standard of delivery and support
  • Support the group’s cloud first strategy; this team will have a leading role to play in the inter-connectivity of systems across the group; to create a leading technical ‘platform’ that sits across its application and service estate, building a unique client and staff user experience

Skills, knowledge, expertise needed for this role:

  • Previous practical IT application support leadership experience within a financial services business
  • A broad technical understanding of a wide range of applications and technologies, including cloud service providers, experience in the migration of technology services to the cloud would be advantageous
  • Deep understanding of change management principles
  • Experience of agile methodologies / working practices would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to develop good working relationships within the business, IT teams, clients and with other service providers
  • A positive and proactive application support and digital transformation attitude
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures
