HR Assistant

A large commercial company is seeking a HR Assistant to join their HR team to report directly to the Senior HR Practitioner. 

Key duties:

  • Work closely with the Senior HR Practitioner/HR Manager to support recruitment campaigns 
  • Responsible for ensuring the corporate website is up to date with current jobs
  • Organise recruitment and selection including advertising, short listing applicants and interviews
  • Manage the recruitment inbox and respond to candidates in a timely manner
  • Prepare the offer documentation for new joiners, and complete the required pre-employment screening
  • Initiate the new hire checklist and process in a timely manner ensuring all new starter information is entered onto the relevant systems
  • Issue employment contracts to new starters across the Group through a mail merge
  • Work closely with the Managers to support them with any related staff contractual or recruitment requirements
  • Ensure all employee files are maintained with appropriate security taken for all HR-related information
  • Prepare employee letters in relation to change in terms and conditions
  • Draft ad hoc employee letters with direction from HR Manager/Senior HR Practitioner

Skills/Competencies required for this role:

  • Hold a CIPD Level 3 Foundation qualification
  • Exceptional record management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of employment law
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and juggle a varied and very busy workload
  • Excellent attention to detail with a good level of numeracy
  • Clear and logical thinking approach
  • Understand the requirements of handling confidential and sensitive information
