This is a varied role within a prestigious commercial company. The role-holder will provide operational and technical support to users and liaise with external suppliers of technology.
Responsibilities include:
- installing and configuring hardware
- creating/managing user accounts
- managing the telephone system
- dealing with users re. general IT issues
- overseeing activities of external contractors
- developing junior IT staff
- ensuring all IT problems are logged and targets are met
- analysing problems and developing solutions etc.
Candidates should have experience of working in a helpdesk environment providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are required.
The ideal candidate will hold an ITIL foundation certificate, an MCP/MCSE qualification or equivalent and be educated to HND level or above in a computer-related discipline.

- Logging and resolving IT queries
- Supporting desktop environment including installing software and hardware
- Assisting with routine security e.g. password resets, backups
- Assisting with implementation and management of small desktop projects.
Candidates must have strong technical skills including MS Windows operating systems, MS Ofifce, desktop hardware, Active Directory Windows Terminal Server, Voice over IP, phone systems, blackberries, SQL Server and databases.
Candidates must also be able to understand IT documentation in order to implement/upgrade new and current technologies.

Do you have 4-5 years’ experience in an IT environment? This is an interesting role within a well-established trust company, part of a larger financial organisation, for an individual to provide IT systems support, both in terms of infrastructure and staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Active Directory administration
- Building security and premises responsibilities
- Review of overnight IT processes
- Maintenance of business continuity site
- Maintenance re. IP telephony structure
- Maintenance of printers and other hardware
- Project work.
Experience is required in general network including Cisco switches, operating systems, directory structures, telephony support and scanning and printing environment. Knowledge of 4Series and Microsoft applications including Exchange and SQL Server and Crystal reports would be advantageous.
Candidates must be prepared to work flexible hours.
