Experience in securities dealing accounts and company administration/company secretarial knowledge (including share issues) is required.  Acufund system experience would be advantageous.

This is a stand-alone role but there may be some supervision of fund administrators in the future.

The role is varied and includes:

• team responsibilities – allocation of work and dealing with staff matters
• contact with clients, brokers etc.
• accounting duties and budgeting
• attending board meetings and input on company secretarial matters.

Applicants should be qualified or near-qualified ACCA/ACA with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within a similar environment, ideally with previous captive experience.  Leadership, supervisory and presentation skills are also required.

Candidates should be ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with previous team management experience and be skilled in investigating technical accounting issues and reporting their findings.

Candidates should be CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified with post qualification experience, people management experience and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, with a solid understanding of the principles of and practical experience of preparation of group and company accounts prepared under UK GAAP.

A 6 month contract is offered to cover maternity leave.

The roleholder will be responsible for:

• Invoice processing
• Payments
• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts payable reconciliations
• Quarterly reporting
• Annual audit
• General correspondence.

Candidates should have experience of working in a financial administrative role with a good understanding of Excel and experience of working with an accounting system.  CAT, AAT or similar qualification is preferred together with experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics GP and knowledge of a private equity environment.

Intermediate knowledge of Excel is required.

• Sort and date stamp all accounts payable incoming mail items
• Prepare cheques and bank transfers
• Reconcile company bank accounts
• Carry out bookkeeping of company’s general ledger
• Process invoices, cash receipts, write-offs and credit notes in sales ledger
• Assist client departments with sales ledger queries
• Prepare draft sales invoices for Department Heads approval
• Process company travel expense claim forms
• Prepare monthly figures for Board papers

Candidates should have an analytical mind with the ability to investigate and solve accounting issues in a logical manner.  A minimum of 2 years’ book-keeping experience is required and an accounting qualification would be desirable but is not essential.

This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week during the afternoon.  Applicants must be prepared to work extra hours to cover holidays.

Working hours are 7 on Tuesday and Thursday and 5 on a Saturday, totalling 19 hours per week.

Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel (intermediate level) and Word plus strong multi-tasking and excellent communication skills.  A book-keeping qualification is preferred but not essential.
