UK market
According to the Markit Report on UK Jobs for February, there is “cautious optimism” in the UK job market. Key points are:
- Stronger rise in permanent placements but temp billings fall
- IT & Computing and Engineering/Construction staff most in demand
- Permanent salaries falling but temp pay rising fast.
Guernsey market
We have noticed a significant increase permanent placements recently and temporary placements are also rising. Pay for both sectors is steady.

Melissa wrote about the large number of new vacancies we’ve taken on this year and noted the wider variety of jobs in the commercial sector seen over 2011.
On the temp side, Melissa explained that this has changed over the years with many qualified professionals such as accountants and compliance officers now out on assignment.
