Get to Know Lisa Reynolds

We pride ourselves in taking the time to get to know our candidates and clients thoroughly so we can ensure we match people up with their dream job! So we thought it might be good for you to get to know us a little.

See below some interesting facts about our Consultant, Lisa Reynolds.

What is your favourite family tradition? Each Christmas my husband sets up a large Scalextric track in our kitchen/conservatory.  Some of our family and friends have even purchased their own cars and turn up each year to race their cars.

Describe one experience that challenged you? Life is full of challenges but to pick just one…..getting left behind on the underground in Russia when I was 18, along with another 15 year old Guernsey girl (we were on a school trip).  As well as not speaking a word of Russian, we also didn’t know how an underground worked - scary stuff at that age!  I decided that we would stand a better chance of getting back to the hotel by taxi so we went back up to street level and stopped a very old lady to ‘talk’ to (I must have had a note of the name of the hotel on me, I can’t quite recall).  She pointed us in the direction of a bus which, amazingly enough, eventually got us back to our hotel.  I was VERY relieved (and so was our teacher who was just about to contact the police) but learnt that I was capable of more than I gave myself credit for and also that, no matter where you are in the world, generally people do want to help you if they can.

What would you sing at Karaoke night? Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis – it is very short, the words are very simple and normally everyone joins in so no-one can hear you anyway!

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? A good book, a very big sun umbrella and a large fruity cocktail.

Is your glass half full or half empty? Always, always half full 

If you could have a drink with someone from history who would it be? Elvis Presley

If you weren’t working in the job you have now, what would you do? Anthropologist or Primary School Teacher

If you could change something in the world, what would it be? I would like to be able to travel without taking the time to get there or pay the cost.  Is this called Teleportation?!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received? I’m sure that I have been given lots of good advice over the years most of which I have forgotten!  However, I saw a quote on LinkedIn recently which really stuck in my mind (and made me chuckle) – ‘If you don’t like where you are, change it.  You are not a tree’.
